"Yeah, it's kind of dumb." But it also makes it seem somehow less awful, to give it a dumb name. Then they can complain about the dumb name instead of disappearing for five years. He can't even imagine how the people left behind cope. For him, it hardly seemed like anything. It's not like anyone missed him, or he had anyone to miss.

"I did that, too," he says, though. "The blipped thing. Came back to a hostel room with two other people in it, who were really surprised when I formed back up at the foot of the bed."
